How It Works

The following is the general process once your family has made the wonderful decision to create a newsletter with Connecting Families.  The process is different for the Extended Family Subscription and the Small Family Yearly Update.  

Extended Family Subscription

Setup

-         The family decides on a name and how often they want to publish their newsletter (monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly).

-         The family picks a liaison, who is responsible for making the payment and providing basic family background information (number of members, e-mail addresses, etc.).

-         Connecting Families works with the family to create a schedule for the one-year subscription, including deadline dates and reoccurring items.

Production

-         One week prior to the submission deadline for each issue, Connecting Families will send all family members a reminder, listing that issue’s deadline date and scheduled articles.

-         Over the following week, family members will e-mail Connecting Families their submissions, including scheduled articles and other additional news.

-         Connecting Families will edit, design a layout, and add graphics.

Distribution

-         Connecting Families will send all family members an electronic copy of their newsletter in Microsoft^Ò Word format as an e-mail attachment, which they can print at their own expense.

-         Connecting Families will mail hardcopies of the newsletter to family members who have requested a printed version.

 

Small Family Yearly Update

Your family will…

-         Decide on a name for the newsletter.

-         Send information and pictures to be included in the newsletter. 

Connecting Families will…

-         Edit, design a layout, and add graphics.

-         Send the family an electronic copy of their newsletter in Microsoft^Ò Word format as an e-mail attachment.

-         Mail one hardcopy of the newsletter to the family.

-   Send electronic copies or mail hardcopies of the newsletter to your friends and relatives. (Optional at additional charge)
